About the Author

Diogenes III, known as D3 to friends, is an itinerant cemetery caretaker. He specializes in rural, Victorian-era boneyards whose modest rehabilitation fees come from small contributions of local churches and historical societies. The work includes re-setting and partial restoration of headstones.

Prior to finding his current vocation, D3 worked slime lines on fish processing ships off Alaska, as a crime scene cleaner in Kentucky, and a snake milker in Texas.

He is an amateur devotee of Emily Dickinson, HP Lovecraft and Voltaire. D3 owns a 1963 Corvair Rampside pickup and a full complement of necropolistic tools. He has written a brief history of gravedigging, a volume of eco-critical haiku, and the novella Kandude.
